Welcome to
Located in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, Compass is a community-based mental health program supporting adults in Fitchburg and surrounding communities living with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and other persistent mental health conditions who are looking for connection, structure, and a supportive community.
Which means:
- You belong here.
- You are more than a diagnosis.
- We work together, side-by-side as members and staff, to make change happen.
Compass is a place where everyone has the opportunity to share their gifts and talents. We celebrate the many cultures, languages, and life experiences that make up our North County community, and we work every day to create a space that feels welcoming, respectful, and safe for all.
What Happens at Compass?
You’ll find active working hubs throughout the building: places where members collaborate, connect, and create together.
Every weekday, we operate through what’s called a work-ordered day. Members and staff work together to run the Clubhouse: planning events, preparing meals, welcoming
new members, managing communications, organizing activities, and more.
There is structure, purpose, and shared responsibility. You don’t have to be “ready”
for a job. The work here is about rebuilding confidence and connecting with others.
Find Your Place at Compass
Membership at Compass is free and completely voluntary. You choose how often you attend and how involved you want to be. You do not need to be “ready” for work. You simply need to be interested in joining a supportive community.
What We Support
As a member, you’ll find opportunities and support in areas like:
- Employment exploration and support
- Education planning
- Housing navigation
- Health and wellness
- Life skills
- Social connection
- Community involvement
Everything we do is about creating space for you to belong, contribute, and find your new beginnings.
Eligibility Requirements
To become a member, you must simply:
- Be interested in participating in the Clubhouse community
- Have a diagnosis of a severe and persistent mental illness
If you’re not sure whether Compass is the right fit, that’s okay. Reach out, we’ll talk it through and help you figure it out.
